How happy is a Blameless vestals lot?
The world forgetting by the world forgot.
Eternal Sunshine of a spotless mind.
Each prayer accepted and each wish resigned.
Have you ever heard something in your life which you think was written for you. Well this quote is of those things only. Written by Pope Alexander ... oh sorry .. Alexander Pope. Initially when I heard it in the movie "Eternal Sunshine of a spotless mind", I dint pay any attention but then when I was the movie for the 2nd time( By the way its an ultimate romantic movie, A+ must watch), I thought deeply about it. I have come up with aan interpretation, comments are welcomed:
The 1st line says that how happy is a blameless virgin( A saint, person who has done nothing wrong). He is trying to forget a world ( a girl prob.) who has already forgotten him i.e she has left him. In this course of forgetting her he achieves eternity i.e he gets wisdom and compassion (Enlightenment in a way) because he has a pure mind ( hasnt done anything wrong). The last line is the most deep one as it says that the virgin person who has been left behind always prays for the well being of his lover which is accepted by god but at the same time he wishes to get back with his lover is not granted.
